Essential oils.  They smell good but what are they for and how in the world do you use them?  You are not alone in this question.  So many people have heard that essential oils are plant extracts that are healthy for you but have no idea how to use them or where to start.  Here is a simple list of practical ways to use essential oils in your daily life.

1.  DIFFUSE ESSENTIAL OILS FOR AROMATHERAPY

Aromatherapy inspires a positive emotional state.  Think of a good memory you have.  Many times these good memories are connected to an aroma in the “background”, a subliminal message to your brain saying this is good, this is fun, this is happy!  Oils known for motivation and positive thinking are Frankincense, Rosemary, Lime and Peppermint.

2.  USE ESSENTIAL OILS TO PURIFY YOUR HOME

Certain essential oils are great tools to freshen and purify your home, your gear, your car, etc.  Oils known for purification are clove, tea tree, orange, lemongrass and more.  Simply add several drops of essential oil to a small bottle filled with water and freshen away!

Wintergreen, peppermint, camphor, pine.  These are all therapeutic essential oils to provide muscle relief.  Sore neck?  Add 3-5 drops of essential oil to a small amount of carrier oil (we like fractionated coconut oil) and massage the affected area.  You will feel it working as the oils sink in and do their work by providing relief within a few minutes.

5.  USE ESSENTIAL OILS AS A SHOWER RINSE / SIMPLE EXFOLIATING SCRUB (with carrier oil)

Essential oils make an energizing and stimulating shower rinse/scrub.  Here’s how to do it.

Sugar Scrub:  Add 1 dropper full of an Essential Fitness Oils synergy blend (link below) to 2 tsp carrier oil and 2 Tbsp. sugar for a motivating, exfoliating and moisturizing shower scrub.

Basic Rinse:  Add 1 dropper full of an Essential Fitness Oils synergy blend (link below) to approx. 1 Tbsp. carrier oil for a moisturizing and stimulating body cleanser.
