Freezer-to-Crockpot Turkey White Bean and Kale Soup

Ingredients:

1 small onion, diced

1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 bunch of kale, washed and sliced

1 can cannellini beans (white kidney beans), washed and drained

2 Tbsp. Italian seasoning

1 pound ground turkey

8 cups chicken broth

 

To Freeze:

Combine all ingredients, EXCEPT the chicken broth, in a gallon-sized plastic freezer bag.

Tips:  Add the ground turkey to the bag last so it’s the first ingredient poured into the crockpot.  Remove as much air from the bag as possible.  Lay flat in the freezer.

 

To Cook:

Thaw overnight in refrigerator.  Add meal to your crock pot along with the chicken broth.

Cook on low setting for 8 hours, or until meat is cooked and carrots are soft.
